Recantos da Alta
É impossível dissociar a importância que a Alta teve e continua a ter na história e na vida social da cidade de Coimbra. Nesta parte da cidade viveram reis, implantou-se uma das mais antigas e prestigiadas universidades do mundo e aqui tiveram lugar alguns dos mais importantes acontecimentos da história de Portugal.
Actualmente, a Alta representa o maior centro turístico da cidade de Coimbra. A Universidade, as Sés e os vários museus são os pontos de convergência da grande maioria daqueles que visitam Coimbra.
Fora deste circuito mais comum existem na Alta outros recantos, arquitecturas, marcas da vida académica e pormenores que normalmente ficam de fora, ou simplesmente passam ao lado, dos roteiros e dos guias turísticos. Mostrar um pouco dessa Alta é o grande propósito deste conjunto de imagens, não esquecendo obviamente alguns dos locais mais emblemáticos desta parte da cidade.

We can’t separate the importance that Coimbra’s Uptown had and continues to have in the history and social life of the city. In this part of the city lived kings, has been settled one of the oldest and prestigious universities in the world and some of the most important events in the history of Portugal took place here.
Currently, the Uptown represents the biggest touristic center in Coimbra. The University, the cathedrals and the several museums are the focal points of the majority of tourists that visit Coimbra.
Outside this regular touristic circuit, there are in the Uptown another places, architectures, traces of the academic life and details that usually are left out, or simply pass along, the tourist guides. Show a bit more of that Uptown is the main goal of this set of images, without forgetting some of the most emblematic sites of this part of Coimbra.
