1. What
is the new University of Coimbra identification card?
It is the only university identification accepted by the University of Coimbra and its organizational units. Besides identification, the card can be used for other purposes.
2. What
is it for?
It can be used for various purposes. First, it identifies the holder as a member of the university community, but can also be used for the cafeterias, libraries, parking lots and medical assistance. In addition, it can be used to access your personal information, payment of enrollment fees and tuition, access to buildings and other facilities, electronic signature and electronic wallet. The card also gives you discounts at participating stores and public transportation and can also function as a debit card.
3. Who can get a card?
All members of the university community, ie. students, faculty,
researchers, non-faculty staff and in general anyone who has a relationship
with the University of Coimbra for more than three months.
4. Am I required to have a
card?
It is an identification card and as such everyone should have one.
5. Can
it be used as an ATM card?
Yes, The card can serve as an ATM card. To take advantage of this
function you just need to inform Santander Totta Bank.
6. Do I need to open an account at Santander Totta to get the card? No, the card's primary function is for identification purposes. Opening an account is optional.
7. How
do I get a card?

8. Will
my personal information be used for other purposes?
No, all personal information provided to the university community by the University of Coimbra is strictly confidential and will not be used for purposes other than issuing the card.
The card is personal and non-transferrable and can only be used by the person whose name appears on the card.
