Following the publication of the Decree-law 36/2014 of 10 March 2014 and the decision of the General Council of the University of Coimbra on 24 March 2014, Portuguese students and students with a similar status and international students are subject to the payment of a different tuition fee.
|1.||Students with Portuguese nationality;|
|2.||Student nationals of the European Union Member States;|
|3.||Non-European Union student nationals residing legally in Portugal for more than two years, uninterruptedly, on 31 August of the year in which they apply to UC. The same applies to their children if any. The time of the residence permit for studies does not account for the time of legal residence in Portugal;|
|4.||Students enrolled at UC as exchange students within the framework of academic exchange agreements with that aim;|
Students who have applied to the special access and admission competitions organised nationally by the Portuguese Directorate General for Higher Education (DGES) – Link to http://www.dges.mctes.pt/DGES/pt/Estudantes/Acesso/RegimesEspeciais:
a. Scholarship holders from the Portuguese-speaking African Countries;
b. Nationals from East Timor and children of nationals of East Timor;
c. Foreign staff in accredited diplomatic mission in Portugal and their family members residing in Portugal, on a reciprocity basis.
1. International students enrolled and registered in the academic year of 2013/2014 will keep paying the same tuition fee as the Portuguese students and the students with a similar status until the end of their academic path as long as they keep studying at the University of Coimbra, in any degree programme.
2. Students with double nationality (Portuguese or EU Member State nationality) will also pay the tuition fee of the Portuguese students and the students with a similar status. However, these students cannot apply to the special access and admission competition to 1st cycle and integrated master programmes organised by the University of Coimbra for international students.
