From Lisbon

Bus: Arriving in Lisbon, you can take a taxi** or the Aeroshuttle (every 30 min) to the Coach Terminal at Sete Rios and than take a Coach to Coimbra.

Coaches to Coimbra are frequent and the cost is around 13 EUR. The time of travel is about 2h 30m. You can view the coach schedules at http://www.rede-expressos.pt.


Train: Arriving in Lisbon, you can take a taxi*, the Aeroshuttle (every 30 min) or the nº 5 Bus to the Gare do Oriente Train Station http://www.carris.pt/en/index.php.

There are trains from Lisbon to Coimbra every two hours. For the timetables please go to www.cp.pt. It usually takes around 2h to get to Coimbra by train.


Important: There are several types of trains in Portugal, the better and faster ones are called “Intercidades” (Intercity – IC) and the “Alfa Pendular” (the fastest one – AP). When arriving at the train station Coimbra-B you will have two options:

    a) there is a train to take you into downtown (called Coimbra-A station) and there you can take a taxi to go to the hotel/conference venue.

    b) you can simply catch a taxi in Coimbra-B and go to your hotel/conference venue.
