How to get a debit card
To open a bank account you should go to a branch of the bank of your choice taking with you:
- your Identity Card or passport
- your Fiscal Number (“cartão de contribuinte”)
- proof of your address (for instance a fiscal document or electricity bill)
- proof of your professional status (for instance, a student card or salary advice slip)
You may also be asked to present your residence permit.
Once you have opened an account all the bank’s services should be available to you
