Organisation

CISUC is organised in 6 research groups, covering a substantial segment of the classic research topics on computer engineering & informatics, with increasing activity on multidisciplinary research subjects. The groups and respective coordinators are:

• Cognitive and Media Systems, Amílcar Cardoso
• Evolutionary and Complex Systems, Francisco Pereira
• Information Systems, Paulo Rupino
• Laboratory of Communications and Telematics, Edmundo Monteiro
• Software and Systems Engineering, Luis Moura e Silva

CISUC has two main boards: the Scientific Commission (SC) and the Directorate (D). The Scientific Commission elects the Directorate, which in turn elects one of its members as President. The SC is responsible for the definition of the R&D policy of the centre, while the Directorate is in charge of the management aspects of CISUC. The President co-ordinates all the activities and represents the centre externally. The SC is composed by all the Ph.D.s of the unit plus three more elements in representation of the other members.

The current President of the Centre is Amílcar Cardoso.
