The Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra (FCTUC) is looking for motivated members of the community to work on Portuguese project PTDC/EIA-EIA/108675/2008, designated Forms of Selective Attention in Intelligent Transportation Systems, based on the following characteristics:

Type of activity: The grant holder will develop a mechanism for artificial selective attention for personal mobile devices such that these may solely communicate information relevant to the user in the domain of intelligent transportation systems.
Applicant profile: Students with a degree (Licenciatura or Master) in Computer Science, Informatics Engineering or Electrotechnical Engineering. Preference will be given to students interested in undertaking the work within the scope of the Doctoral Program in Information Science and Technology of the FCTUC.
Duration: 4 months. The grant may eventually be renewed for an additional period of 12 months, and renewed successively until a maximum total grant period of 36 months is reached.
Financial conditions: The amount of the grant is 745€ for Licenciados and 980€ for Masters, paid monthly at the end of the month by bank transfer. This amount is increased by the voluntary social security corresponding to the first level, in case the candidate elects this possibility, as well as personal accidents insurance.

Applicant profile: PhD in Chemical Engineering, Electric Engineering, Computer Science or similar fields. Location: Department of Chemical Engineering of the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Coimbra. Duration: 12 months. Renewal: It could be renewable for up to 36 months. Financial conditions: The amount of the grant is 1.495€, paid monthly at the end of the month by bank transfer. The successful candidate: Should preferably have a background or experience gathered in some of the following fields: Process Supervision and Control, Chemometrics/Multivariate Statistics.
