Laboratory of Petrography

The Petrography Laboratory has essentially a didactic vocation. Serves mainly for practical classes of the following disciplines: Mineralogy, Igneous Petrology, Sedimentary Petrology, Metamorphic Petrology, Nonmetallic Mineral Resources and Metallic Mineral Resources, from the Bachelor's degree in Geology, and Geology Observation and Experimentation, of the Masters in Biology and Geology Degree. It is installed in two contiguous spaces, rooms C329 and C330, of the DCT.

This laboratory is equipped with didactic collections of crystallographic models, minerals, rocks, thin-sections and polished surfaces, used in the teaching of practical classes of identification of minerals and rocks, at mesoscopic and microscopic scales.
