The Department of Informatics Engineering (DEI), heir of the long history of the University of Coimbra, is a modern and different school. Here we invent the future, through the high level of training we provide, the excellence of our research, and a rewarding responsibility in the birth of prestigious consolidated spin-off companies.
Located in Coimbra, City of Knowledge, DEI is guided by the demand of excellence in training, research, and aiming at the promotion of a culture of open dialogue, tolerance and cooperation among all members of its community.
Our mission is to prepare our students to become technically competent citizens, fully conscious of the challenges they will have to address.
