The Coimbra Faculty of Law has always played a prominent role in the legal
and cultural life of the country

The latest generations of teachers have continued to honour the School’s
long-standing prestige, and some of them have attained deserved
international prestige.

Today the Faculty of Law in Coimbra retains a broad perspective, lending
itself to the nurturing of Culture and of Freedom, where free citizens may
investigate, teach and study, respecting and putting into practice the
"freedom to learn and teach" that the Constitution guarantees to all.
