SPAM and Outlook Configuration

1 - SPAM Identification

In order to have your messages identified as SPAM, follow the instructions below:

"Controlo de correio não solicitado (SPAM)" in: https://www1.ci.uc.pt/mancontas/antispam

Endereço e-mail: username@fe.uc.pt     or    ucnºstudent@student.fe.uc.pt
Cód. Acesso: chosen by user
Nível de controlo: choose the level intended


2 - Outlook 2003

Tools - E-mail Accounts - (Add new e-mail account) - POP3

User information:
        Your Name: ...
        Email address: username@fe.uc.pt     or    ucnºstudent@student.fe.uc.pt

Logon information:
        User Name: username@fe.uc.pt     or    ucnºstudent@student.fe.uc.pt
        Password: chosen by user

  Servers information:

        Outgoing mail server (SMTP)*: mail.uc.pt
        Incoming mail server (POP3): mail.uc.pt 

* Outside FEUC: in case the SMTP doesn't function, insert the SMTP of your ISP.

  More Settings ...

Outgoing Server:
select the option*
"My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" and select the option* "Use same settings as my incoming mail server"
* if not work deselect


Incoming server (POP3): select the option* "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)
Outgoing server (SMTP): select the option* "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)
* if it doesn't work, unselect

3 - To identify SPAM messages, follow the insctructions:
Create Rules (an example because the user may choose other options)

      Tools - Rules and Alerts - New Rule...
