Carla Marques

Carla Isabel dos Santos Marques was born in 1970, in Coimbra and graduated in Biochemistry at the University of Coimbra in 1993. In 1997 she completed her Master degree in Vision Sciences at the University of Coimbra. In the period of 1998-2000 she worked at Oftalder Company in the I&D laboratory. In 2007 she has got a PhD in Biomedical Science at the University of Coimbra.

Scientific Interest:

Her research interests include the effect of oxidation and glycation on elimination of damaged proteins by UPP, and the role of UPP and molecular chaperones on maintenance of protein solubility and degradation in lens and retina.
