João Martins

João Filipe da Costa Martins was born in Coimbra on 16 March 1984. He graduated in Biology, Scientific Branch, at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Porto, in September 2006. In 2009 he finished his Master’s degree in Cell Biology at Faculty of Sciences and Technology, University of Coimbra. He is currently developing his Doctoral work entitled “Modulation of retinal ganglion cells and implications for neuroprotection” in Biomedical Sciences at the Institute for Biomedical Imaging and Life Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, University of Coimbra, under the supervision of Dr. António Francisco Ambrósio and Prof. Miguel Castelo-Branco.

Neuropeptide Y(NPY) and NPY receptors.

Retinal ganglion cell physiology.
