Marco António Machado Simões


Marco is a PhD student on IBILI, studying the neuro-correlates of social development in autistic children using Virtual Reality applications and Electroencephalography (EEG), aiming improvements in the understanding, diagnosis and rehabilitation of autism.

He has a Master in Informatics Engineering and is currently doing his PhD in a partnership between IBILI and the Department of Informatics Engineering - University of Coimbra, Portugal, with a PhD grant funded by FCT. The research work is performed in a tight partnership with the Unit for NeuroDevelopment and Autism, from the Pediatric Hospital of Coimbra - Portugal (UNDA-HP-CHUC).

He taught some courses from the BSc of Informatics Engeneering and also Design and Multimedia, from the Department of Informatics Engineering - University of Coimbra, Portugal.
