Célia Maria Freitas Gomes
Célia Maria Freitas Gomes graduated in Biochemistry in 1992 from the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of University of Coimbra and completed a Master Degree in Biomedical Engineering in 1996 at the Faculty of Medicine of University of Coimbra. In 2000 she assumed her current position as a Research Assistant at the Institute of Biophysics/Biomathematics, IBILI - Faculty of Medicine, University of Coimbra. Presently she in the process of finishing her PhD in Biomedical Sciences.
Main scientific interests and goals:
1.The role of ABC transporters in tumours response to chemotherapy
2.Functional imaging of Multidrug Resistance (MDR) using radiopharmaceuticals in tumours.
3.Strategies for overcoming drug resistance mediated by ABC transporters
