Gil Cunha

In 1999 I got an MD degree in Coimbra, Portugal. In 2000-07, I did clinical work in Neurology and Radiology, with a special focus in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain.
In 2007 I started my PhD studies in the doctoral programme of the Center for Neurosciences of the University of Coimbra.
I now work at the Visual Neuroscience Lab in IBILI , head – Prof. Miguel Castelo-Branco, investigating the neural basis of visual impairment and rehabilitation in amblyopic patients, using psychophysical methods and structural and functional MRI.
Scientific Interest: Neuroscience in health and disease; Magnetic Resonance Imaging; Retino-cortical visual processing; Amblyopia; Neuronal plasticity and rehabilitation.
