She was born in Coimbra in 1976 and has worked in a variety of professional activities in the area of culture.
She holds a Degree in the History of Art from the Faculty of Letters of the University of Coimbra (1999) and also holds post-graduate diploma in Museology from the Faculty of Letters of the University of Porto and also a Master’s Degree in Contemporary History from the Faculty of Letters of the University of Coimbra.
After completing her professionalization training at the Porto Museum of Transport and Communications, she also gained experience at the Conímbriga Monografic Museum where she was responsible for the development of pedagogical materials for the Museum’s educational service. She was also part of the educational team at the Figuera da Foz Centre for Arts and Shows and recently collaborated on the University of Coimbra UNESCO World Heritage candidature project. She teaches at the primary level at Bissaya Barreto College in Coimbra and is a trainer in the areas of Citizenship and the History of Art. The present volume is an updated verson of her Master’s dissertation, which she defended in April 2007.
