He is a teacher at the Architecture Department of the Faculty of Science and Technology at the University of Coimbra (FCTUC), where he teaches subjects in Research Projects and Seminars.
He has a Degree in Architecture and a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, specialising in the Sciences of Construction from FCTUC. He has devoted his research to themes related to buildings in Portugal, examined from the perspective of the Theory of History and Architecture and as an activity in a project.
Apart from being the author of several articles in his areas of expertise published in national and international journals, he is also the author and co-author of interventions in classified heritage buildings in Portugal, some of which are a result of the collaboration with old agencies of the General Directorate for National Monuments and Buildings (DGEMN) and the Portuguese Institute for Architectural Heritage (IPPAR). Amongst those papers, those that specifically include the castles in Leiria, Pombal and Castelo Novo are of particular interest.
