This anthology examines the institutional psychotherapy movement past and present. Some texts are essentially informative in nature, while others are deliberately controversial, cultivating polemic as a stimulus to thought.
The first part contains texts of a historical nature, and accounts of the methodology used by institutional psychotherapy in the practice of Sector Psychiatry. It covers subjects such as: the notion of the team, institutional socioanalysis and, especially, the liaison between the psychiatric team and primary healthcare and local social services. The second part, which is more controversial, reflects ethically and critically about an objectivizing psychiatry that denies both subject and intersubjectivity in its theory and practice.
