Contacts and Timetables to visit the Paço das Escolas

Before visiting the Paço das Escolas, you should acquire your ticket at the University Shop, in the Main Library's atrium (Largo da Porta Férrea, in front of the Faculty of Humanities).

Every year between the 1^st November and the 2^nd Friday before Easter, the University Shop is open to the public between 9:30 and 17:00 and visits to the Paço das Escolas begin at 10:00 and end at 16:40 (Joanine Library) and at 17:00 (other places).

During the rest of the year, the University Shop is open to the public between 8:30 and 19:00 and visits to the Paço das Escolas begin at 9:00 and end at 19h20 (Joanine Library) and at 19:30 (other places).

An interesting characteristic of the monumental ensemble constituted by the University of Coimbra is the fact that, at present, it continues to be used and experienced for University activities, academic ceremonies, performances and cultural events.

To guarantee that your visit is not conditioned by any academic ceremony, send an e-mail to loja.uc@ci.uc.pt at least three working-days before your visit, indicating the date and time you would like to visit us. We will answer your e-mail until one day prior to the visit.
If you choose to make a reservation for the Joanine Library (rate of EUR 3,00 per reservation, independently of the number of booked tickets), you may do so at reservas@ci.uc.pt. You should indicate the date and time of the planned visit and the number of people participating in the visit.

	includes a visit to the Sala dos Capelos, Private Examination Room, Weapons Room, Joanine Library (first floor and medium level) , St Michael's Chapel and Academic Prison
Students national or foreign, senior citizens over 65 (with confirming document):	EUR 5,50
