General information

1. How can my company benefit from the participation in the OPEras Consortium?

By participating in the OPEras – Opportunity Placements with Erasmus Consortium, your company will have the opportunity to receive European trainees following a higher education degree (1st, 2nd and 3rd cycles are included) at the University of Coimbra, without costs and for a period of 3 to 12 months. All study fields are covered.

2. From which countries can my company receive trainees?

Trainees can come from any Member State of the European Union, EEE-EFTA countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway) and yet from the current countries, which have applied to EU membership, such as: Croatia, Iceland, Turkey, Montenegro and Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.

3. How do I join the OPEras Consortium?

You should contact the Consortium Manager at the University of Coimbra.

4. How do I apply to receive trainees?

You should fill in the Placement Offers Form and sent it to the Consortium Manager. In this Form, you’ll have the possibility of defining the profile of the trainee you’re looking for, the length and programme of the training period.

5. Is there any financial support?

Trainees receive an Erasmus grant that takes into account the host country and the length of the training period. This grant does not cover all expenses; it is rather a financial support to help cover the inherent extra living costs. Your company is not required to pay for these placements.

6. What is the length of the placement?

The company can receive students during a minimum period of 3 months and a maximum of 12 months. The placement can be carried out during holydays as long as it covers a minimum period of 3 months.
