The University of Coimbra and the Open University already have available online the distance education learning joint offer within the framework of the consortium between the two institutions. Applications are already open. More information here.
Today we congratulate the former April Commander (Capitão de Abril), General Pedro de Pezarat Correia, who concluded his Ph.D. with honour and appraisal at the University of Coimbra at the age of 85.
Congratulations also to the historian Alexandre Marcussi, who has been awarded the CES Award for Young Portuguese Social Scientists. The professor of African History at the Federal University of Minas Gerais won the prize with the work "Captivity and Healing - Religious Experiences of Atlantic slaves in the "Calundus of Luzia Pinta", 17th-18th Centuries".
SciComPT (12-13 October), is a congress organised by the Portuguese Communication Network of Science and Technology, taking place for the first time in a Science Museum and for the first time in the city of Coimbra. The 5th edition of the congress has as its main theme the "Objects of Science" and registrationis are already open.
On 23 September, the "Patio das Escolas" of the UC will host, the concert version of the Opera Carmen, by G. Bizet. The "Opera ao Centro" project invites the whole university community to participate in this event in the areas of production, interpretation (choir and orchestra), extras and reception. Applications are open until 7 September.
