Short bio

Rita Martins obtained a degree in Economics from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Coimbra in 1994, a Master Degree and and a Ph.D. in Economics by the University of Coimbra in 1998 and 2008, respctively. She is currently Associate Professor and Coordinator of the CeBER’s group Public Institutions and Public Policies for Sustainable Development. She is also a researcher at CeBER and member of the International Water Association. She participated in the Teachers Mobility Program ERASMUS+, at Charles University - Check Republic,  Athens University of Economics and Business - Greece and University of Varsaw, Faculty of Economic Sciences - Poland.

Her publications include several articles in peer-reviewed international journals (e.g. Journal of Environmental Management, Utilities Policy, Water Policy, Journal of Productivity Analysis, Policy Studies, Public Organization Review) and national journals (Notas Económicas, Revista Portuguesa de Estudos Regionais, among others), book chapters and working papers.

She participated in several research and consultancy projects in the fields os Water Pricing and Social Tariffs.
