Summer University Prague 2013
Summer University Prague 2013 is taking place at Charles University in Prague (Czech Republic) during September 2013 (September 7–22). The course topic is "East goes west – West goes east?: Searching for a new European order after 1990". This study programme is internationally acknowledged and recognized, successful participants will be given 12 ECTS. Applications are to be sent until the end of June 2013. Summer Program in Kosovo
The Bridge Education Abroad Institute (BEAI) runs a summer program in Kosovo. Our institute plans short programs all across the world, providing students with unique opportunities to experience different political cultures while strengthening their leadership and diplomacy skills. Our programs draw a diverse group of students together from all over the world (20+ countries) to discuss pressing global issues while exchange cultural values. In a rapidly globalizing world, we believe these experiences are invaluable to the success of students in the global job market.
For the summer of 2013, we have one program scheduled in Gjilani, Kosovo during the dates July 9–19, 2013. This program will include lectures from experienced professors and guest speakers from all over the globe. Seminário de Verão de Língua e Cultura Búlgaras na Universidade de Sofia

Escola de Verão de Estudos Eslavos
Três bolsas de estudo na República Checa oferecidas a estudantes portugueses pelo Governo da República Checa, no âmbito do Acordo Cultural, com a duração de um mês, para os cursos da Escola de Verão de Estudos Eslavos que se realizarão no verão de 2013, duas delas na Universidade Carolina em Praga e uma na Universidade Masaryk em Brno. Institute for World Literature
Harvard University, June 24-July 19, 2013
No longer focused largely on a canon of Western European masterpieces, world literary studies have expanded into a far-reaching inquiry into the variety of the world’s literary cultures both historically and in the present. Courses in world literature are gaining new prominence around the world, and conferences on world literature are attracting large numbers of scholars, not only in traditional centers of comparative study such as the United States, but in many countries engaged with an increasingly global literary world, from China to Turkey to Romania to Brazil.
Hence the idea for a summer institute for world literature. The Institute takes the form of a four-week set of seminars and lectures each summer, taught by leading practitioners of world literary studies. Our intention is for the Institute to be truly global in practice as well as in theory; following the first three years at Peking University, then Bilgi University in Istanbul, and then Harvard, future sessions are planned for Lisbon, Taipei, Copenhagen, and points beyond. We bring together a hundred graduate students and faculty as participants from around the world; this past summer, our participants came from twenty-four countries. An article by one of our Istanbul seminar leaders, Martin Puchner, can give a sense of the interest of the session, both in the seminars and in the plenary session with one of our guest speakers, Orhan Pamuk :

Literatura Autobiográfica Portuguesa do Século XX: Memórias, Diários e Autobiografias
Contrariando o lugar-comum que dá como residual a literatura autobiográfica no contexto literário português, neste curso estudam-se obras representativas do memorialismo e da autobiografia portuguesas do século XX. Com apoio em bibliografia crítica sobre os autores e as obras analisados e sobre a teoria da literatura autobiográfica, os textos e autores seleccionados permitirão abordar questões como os limites da verdade e da ficcionalidade quando se trata de representar tanto o mundo interior quanto o mundo dito real, a história privada e a historicidade.

De 15 a 30 de Março, aceitam-se candidaturas de alunos de 1º ciclo (preferencialmente finalistas) ou de 2º ciclo em Literaturas, Estudos Culturais e/ou Artísticos inscritos na FLUC, para participação no Programa Intensivo "Sonnet et Politique" a decorrer na Universidade de Poitiers (França) de 23 de Junho a 11 de Julho de 2012. Todas as despesas de transporte, estadia e alimentação são suportadas pelo respectivo Programa. É solicitado um valor de inscrição de 50 euros destinado ao passeio turístico previsto no âmbito do Evento.

Summer School Utrecht 2012
International course ‘Methodologies and Technologies to promote oral communication in Language Education'
The Universities of Utrecht and Valencia, in cooperation with TELL Consult and the Utrecht Summer School, offer a 5-day course in which (student) language teachers can explore the educational possibilities of a number of Web 2.0 applications to support the development of L2 speaking and intercultural skills. Participants will be trained in developing, supervising and assessing learning activities that can be realised with the selected applications, possibly in collaboration with international colleagues. In 2012 the course will be run twice: in Utrecht, The Netherlands in early July (week 27) and in Valencia, Spain, the second week of October (week 42).
For this course, practising (student) teachers in EU (aspiring)
member states can apply for a Comenius grant (Ref. nr. NL-2012-276-002) covering
