Preparation for the ACBPLE meeting in Curaçao in August, 2004, a nine-hour workshop on Curaçao’s creole language (based on Portuguese and Spanish) was offered by Professor Philippe Maurer of the University of Zürich (Switzerland), author of the book Les Modifications temporelles et modales du verbe dans le papiamento de Curaçao, Antilles Nèerlandaises (Kreolische Bibliothek, Helmut Buske Verlag, Hamburg, 1988) on January 30 - 31, 2004.
