Fees and Other Charges
Concerning Academic Administrative Services
Taking into account paragraph b), no. 1 of article 51 in the Statutes of the University of Coimbra (Estatutos da Universidade de Coimbra), the Management Council decided to fix the fees and other charges listed in the table below:

2. Curricular credits

 Fees and other charges provided for in this table are paid in full when submitting the request and no request or process will be handled by the academic services without proof of payment.
 Taking into account that, in the context of the procedures listed on this table, a request demands a detailed and individual analysis
of the requester’s academic record at the UC, each request must be submitted
 The column concerning the electronic version and the translation into English applies to the documents listed under number 1 "Certificates (or diplomas)", regarding courses and cycles of studies functioning in accordance with the Bologna model. Thus, their issuance may not be available for all situations.
 Fees and other charges listed on this table are
applied regardless of the means by which the request is submitted, and are not
reimbursed with the exception of the following situations:
a) 5.2 - Request for appraisal of an exceptional condition, for not complying with the regular deadlines or another condition - if, within the appraisal of the decision, it is considered that the request was submitted due to an omission or doubt of interpretation concerning rules and regulations of the UC. Therefore, the fee paid will be credited in the platform’s current account of the requester;
b) 5.3 - Reappraisal of an exam - if the exam’s grade is changed, due to a mistake in the first appraisal. In that case, the fee paid will be credited in the platform’s current account of the requester.
 Without prejudice to other cases protected by law
or regulations of the UC, no fees are due regarding:
a) multipurpose certificate issued annually concerning the registration in each academic year, and that can be used for ADSE (Public Administration Social Security Fund) and other social protection systems, pensions, military purposes, family support, transportation cards and applications to scholarships;
b) certificate of student’s academic transcripts
issued within the context of Mobility Programs of the UC;
c) the request for the Awarding of Credits to curricular
units accomplished in the context of the Erasmus Program, protocols or other
agreements with the UC;
d) the request for the Awarding of Credits to curricular units submitted along with the application by means of InforEstudante, when duly requested and completed with the necessary documents for its appraisal during the application;
e) The automatic
recognition of higher education academic degrees and diplomas awarded by Higher
Education Institutions requested by applicants to competitions for the
recruitment of researchers, and also applicants for research scholarships,
carried out by the University of Coimbra, who, given the recognition of their
merits by the examination board of the competition, may be selected and hired
by the University of Coimbra, and who need to obtain the recognition of higher
education academic degrees or diplomas awarded by foreign higher education
institutions, pursuant to Decree Law no. 66/2018, of 25th January, as a
requirement to be hired.
f) The automatic and the level recognition of higher education academic degrees and diplomas awarded by foreign higher education institutions, in accordance with the Decree-Law no. 66/2018 of 16th August, requested by applicants for Research Scholarships and other programmes and competitions for the recruitment of new researchers, carried out by the Foundation for Science and Technology I.P. (FCT), or another funding entity, and who need to obtain that recognition as a requirement for admission or assessment of the application, whenever the University of Coimbra is the host institution.
 The exemption from paying fees provided for in paragraph e) in previous number 5 is applicable to applicants, who may be selected or hired within the aforementioned competitions, that may be under way, even if their recognition’s process has already been concluded, provided that the recognition had been requested at the University of Coimbra, in all the cases.
 The exemption from paying the fees provided for in paragraph f) in previous number 5, which is applicable to the applicants who may sign a scholarship contract or work contract as from the date of publication of this Resolution in the Official Journal of the Portuguese Republic (Diário da República), may apply to the recognition of one or more academic degrees, depending on the requirements established and the assessment criteria of the application. This exemption is implemented by means of (a) reimbursement(s) of the fee(s) paid by the applicant concerning his/her request(s) for recognition, if he/she submits a request and a supporting document of the aforementioned contracts, and if necessary, a supporting document of the need for recognition of different degrees.
 The exemptions established in this Resolution remain in force for 5 years, unless otherwise stated.
 If the requester is from one of the member states of the European Union, he/she benefits from a reduction by half of the fees provided for in numbers 5.6.3 e 5.6.4 of the table of fees and other charges of the UC.
 The fees concerning isolated curricular units are established by each organisational unit and published at the official website of the UC before the application’s period to these curricular units.
