Promoting sustainability and plant diversity is the main goal of the UC.Plantas project. In the 2023/24 academic year, the initiative provides 300 native plants, trees and shrubs to be cared for by 1st year students of the University of Coimbra (UC).

We also want to "promote inclusion in the academic community through science", says the organisation. The project also aims to be a platform for "raising environmental awareness". Therefore, besides monitoring the growth of the adopted plant, the UC Botanical Garden also organises several volunteering activities throughout the year.

Students who would like to participate in UC.Plantas 2023/24 and adopt a plant can fill in and submit this online form until the 27th of September (1pm)

The plants will be handed over on the 27th of September between 4.30pm and 7pm on Avenida das Tílias at the Botanical Garden.
