A research team of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra, coordinated by Pedro Neto, developed a system of automatic generation of robot programmess for the manufacturing of metal pieces of complex geometry by the processes of additive manufacture (commonly known as 3D printing).

This system was created in the scope of INTEGRADDE (Intelligent data-driven pipeline for the manufacturing of certified metal parts through Direct Energy Deposition process), a European major project which received a funding of 16 million euros from the European Union Horizon 2020 programme.
