The European project "OPTIMA: Optimised Pest Integrated Management to precisely detect and control plant diseases in perennial crops and open-field vegetables", which involves a dozen researchers of the faculties of Sciences and Technology and Economics of the University of Coimbra has been granted a funding of 3,5 million euros from the Horizon 2020 programme. The consortium, which brings together six countries, aims to develop innovative solutions to reduce the negative impacts of pesticide use on fruit and vegetable growing.
