UC Universe wins students over

Hundreds of young people gathered in Rua Larga on the afternoon of the 13th of September. The reason? Getting to know the UC universe.

From the institutional units to student unions and sections of the Academic Association of Coimbra (AAC - Students' Union), junior initiatives or university services, there were more than eighty entities presenting their services, projects and initiatives at the University of Coimbra (UC).

The Social Services of the University of Coimbra (SASUC) were highly popular. Isabella Lafin, an Erasmus student of Design and Multimedia, told us that she "is always looking for information about the University to really enjoy the university experience and SASUC really helps with that".

AAC structures were also strongly represented. "I got to know RUC [the UC radio]" and "the Students' Union of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities", said Rodrigo Bartolomeu, a new Philosophy student. Rodrigo ended up enrolling in a course offered by RUC - Rádio Universidade de Coimbra, joining one of the many AAC sections.

All participating entities had plenty of games and activities to grab students' attention, on a day when there was lots of entertainment with 14 musical performances.

The UC Universe exhibition is part of UC Welcome and Integration Week for new students. "Fantastic experience", "great" opportunity to "meet other people, other cultures" are some of the reactions shared by those who have just arrived at the UC Universe.
