Initiative integrated into the cycle «Leituras em Diversidade Cultural e Linguística», an organization of Biblioteca Norte | Sul, Center for Social Studies, University of Coimbra, in collaboration with the General Library of the University of Coimbra.
The cycle of events “Leituras em Diversidade Cultural e Linguística/Readings in Cultural and Linguistic Diversity” is an initiative of Biblioteca Norte | South of the Center for Social Studies which, since June 2022, has had the collaboration of the General Library of the University of Coimbra. Centered on the CES community, the event has a policy of welcoming other UC groups. It brings together people united by the pleasure of reading. Organized by the body of doctoral students, it is open to everyone at the University of Coimbra, who come together to read poetry, fiction, and other texts in the different languages that make up the different communities of the UC. From its beginning, in January 2020, until November 2023, this cycle of events was carried out in collaboration between Dom and Enleio: Libraries, Policies and Readings Research Network. In 2022, already in a post-pandemic context, the B|N organizing team understood that it would be important to open these reading sessions to a wider audience. Once contacted, BGUC immediately welcomed the project, thus contributing to its impact and to the dissemination of the pleasure of reading aloud, and collectively.
