This series aims to present, in Portuguese, the works of Latin and Neo-Latin authors, in a translation made directly from the original language. Besides the translation, the distinct features of these volumes is the inclusion of introductory studies, suggestions for further reading and notes. These elements reinforce the scientific originality and scope of the series, while simultaneously fulfilling the goal of making classical texts accessible to readers who do not master the ancient language in which they were written. From the standpoint of scholarly reflection, this series also assumes a specific importance in the lusophone scene as it provides original contributions in an area of fundamental scientific research in the overall context of knowledge and dissemination of literary heritage.
