The project Worlds and Collections – Methodological and Interpretive Worlds of Musical Collections is based on a scientific research work that is close to primary texts, assuming multidisciplinary reading, marked by a slow and careful maturation. It is only after a work of this nature, refined through philology and practice, that arises the essential need to communicate the results obtained both to peers and the general public. The Worlds and Collections series is one, among other possible responses, to this need. Its aim is to provide a broader set of critical editions of the vast musical archive preserved today in our archives and libraries, while always stressing the great need for a transmission of the musical text that guarantees a more comprehensive reception without compromising scientific rigor.
