Public History and the Politics of Alliances
As part of the Keynote Series for the PhD in Contemporary Studies, Rogério Rosa Rodrigues (UDESC) will deliver a Open Class entitled Public History and the Politics of Alliances next Monday, 28 October, at 9am in the CEIS20 Seminar Room.
Biography
Rogério Rosa Rodrigues has a CNPq productivity grant and has been a professor of History Theory at the Santa Catarina State University (UDESC) since 2011, and is accredited in the Postgraduate Programme in History (PPGH) and the Master's in History Teaching (Profhistória). He has a PhD in social history from UFRJ (2008) and a post-doctoral internship at the Institute for Latin American Studies at the Free University of Berlin (2017). Since 2024 he has worked as a collaborating professor at the Institute of History of the Present Time (IHTP, Paris) and as director of the Association of History Professionals, Santa Catarina section (ANPUH-SC), elected for the 2024-2026 biennium. He has been the editorial director of the journal Tempo e Argumento and the coordinator of the Image and Sound Laboratory (LIS/UDESC). He was coordinator of the PPGH/UDESC (2021-2023), and director of the National History Association, Santa Catarina Section for the 2018-2020 biennium. He is one of the editors of the Sources section of the journal História, Ciências, Saúde - Manguinhos and a full member of the Forum Saberes Históricos on ethics in historical research. He is a member of the Brazilian Public History Network. He has published on the relationship between History of the Present Time and Public History, as well as on the Brazilian social conflict known as the Contestado War. Her current research focuses on the analysis and production of educational material on the Contestado War, as well as on the relationship between the popular religiosity of the Holy Brotherhood of St John and the religious beliefs of the people.
