Biografia

Lígia Borges da Silva is a PhD candidate at University of Coimbra, in the Artistic Studies course, where she studies the relationship between musical time and subjective time. Her academic background reveals an eclectic approach to music that took her to complete two bachelor degrees (one in classical flute and another in jazz saxophone) and a master degree in musical education. Played in several different musical contexts, from chamber music to symphonic orchestra, bigband and jazz combos. After years dedicated to musical performance and education she now works as a full-time researcher on music and time, under a grant provided by the Fundação para a Ciencia e a Tecnologia.
