Ardenas House mentioned in article about April
The Ardenas House was recently mentioned in a study by Marta Pinto and Joana Santiago, students of the Integrated Master's Degree in Architecture at the University of Coimbra, on ‘the experience of home and public spaces in times of oppression’, gathering testimonies and case studies that reveal how ‘architecture embraced the desire for freedom, or how it hid it’. The resulting article was recently published in issue 50 of Revista NU - the student magazine of the UC Department of Architecture - under the theme April, which includes an axonometry of a potential hiding place in a cupboard in the CEIS20 headquarters building, when it was still functioning programmatically as single-family housing during the Estado Novo.
