New Book “From Rome to Portugal from Empire to Kingdom : a 1500-year journey through the region of Coimbra”

From Rome to Portugal, from Empire to Kingdom – a 1500-Year Journey through the Coimbra Region is a work coordinated by professors Pedro Carvalho (integrated researcher at CEIS20) and Luísa Trindade from FLUC. The result of 18 months of work by a multidisciplinary team, which also included Sofia Lacerda (PhD student and collaborating researcher at CEIS20), the book examines the vast and unknown material and immaterial heritage of the Coimbra region, from the Roman Empire to the Middle Ages. Funded by the Intermunicipal Community of the Coimbra Region, this work seeks to tell the story of this region over 1500 years, through the archaeological and historical heritage that can still be observed in 22 municipalities, and is available in a bilingual format.
