New publication ‘Moralidades e Invenções’

‘Moralidades e invenções’ is the latest publication by António Pedro Pita, collaborator researcher at CEIS20, produced with the collaboration of Marlene Taveira, executive assistant to the CEIS20 Scientific Board. The volume brings together texts and illustrations by Joaquim Namorado, originally published in the ‘Vértice’ journal.
“I shall publish, as soon as possible, a book that will include around four hundred poems, the vast majority of which remain unpublished. Some of them, in fact, date back to the 1930s and 1940s, and at the time, for various reasons – including matters of book organisation – I chose not to publish them. In principle, these poems will be dated and published in chronological order. The title of the book will be Under a Banner. It is a provocative title and a response to those who believe that committed poetry is a non-poetic form, limited in time and meaning. Furthermore, I intend to collect in a volume the articles I published in Sol Nascente, O Diabo, and Vértice, and, in another book to be titled Three Exemplary Stories and Other Moralities, pieces from the days of the Jornal da Vértice.”
