UC Summer Internship Program

Programa de Estágios de Verão UC

Opportunity to provide UC students with experiences in work contexts, through direct contact with the general environment of an organization, promoting the approximation to institutions and companies, national and international, and the enhancement of their curriculum or redesign of their school career.

Conditions: Internships are unpaid and there is no meal or transport allowance.

Certification: The completion of the internship confers the right to the respective reference in the Diploma Supplement, or to the issue of a certificate for students enrolled in isolated curricular units and students under the mobility program.

Recipients: All UC students

Minimum duration: 1 month (140 hours minimum)

Maximum duration: 3 months (maximum 420 hours)

Internship period: from May to October

(students enrolled in individual curricular units or in a mobility program can only do an internship until August 31)

NOTE:

  1. Failure to carry out the internship without prior and substantiated justification with the welcoming entity and the Office of Professional Departments prevents the placement of an internship in the following academic year.

Period of Applications and Vacancies

Application period: from 15 to 31 March

Application made at InforEstudante, using the option "Academic Desk >> Summer Internships"

Results release (in InforEstudante): until the end of April

The List of entities / companies offering Summer Internships in 2020 will be made available soon.

Grades:

  1. The application date will only be considered when sealed.
  2. After the application is sealed, the average value for serialization purposes will not be changed.
  3. Only students with active enrollment (who have not completed the study cycle) can attend a summer internship

SELF-PROPOSED PROCEDURES

After the ranking, unsuccessful candidates and students who have not applied (or who are only attending isolated curricular units) can choose other welcoming entities in which they intend to carry out the internship and make the necessary contacts for their placement. This situation is foreseen in case there are no vacancies left in the normal application process, for your training area and geographic area.

In case of acceptance of the internship request, the host entities inform NUPE, of the internship period and the respective plan by email to estagios@uc.pt

  • Curricular Internships Establishment of protocols with entities, for the reception and permanence of students in their facilities, with a view to carrying out internships that are part of the study plans of various cycles, which are essential for its conclusion.
