“A Voz dos Cartoons” - Inauguration

Next March 1^st, at 16h30, at the Auditory of the Department of Life Sciences – UC, the inauguration of the exhibition “Voz dos Cartoons” will take place. This exhibition explores 25 cartoons related to April 25^th, 1974, that were present in written press clippings (Angolan, Portuguese and from the main international newspapers) from the Companhia de Diamantes de Angola archive (Diamang).

Revisiting these drawings 50 years later will allow us to think about the satirical, humoristic and polemic looks, that these cartoons bring, about events and the main participants of April 25^th, 1974, but also this ninth art.

The inauguration will be attended by exhibition curators, CFE Coordinator, Helena Freitas, researcher Ana Margarida Dias da Silva (CHSC – Center for the History of Society and Culture), and researcher Jorge Varanda (CRIA – Centro em Rede de Investigação em Antropologia), as well as the DCV-UC Director, Miguel Pardal.
