Conversation THE INTIMATE LIFE OF TREES AND FUNGI - WE ARE TREES

On January 26 at 5:30 pm, in the conversation THE INTIMATE LIFE OF TREES AND FUNGI - WE ARE TREES, part of the cycle Somos Árvores, you will be invited to look at the forest from a different perspective, with Susana C. Gonçalves and Helena Freitas.

The session will show a new perspective on biodiversity and how forests are much more than what we see. The roots of the trees are covered with fungi, which build extensive underground networks and unite trees and fungi in an ever-lively market. There are bartering, buying and selling, appropriation, begging, borrowing, and fraud. Trees and fungi live in intimate relationships, which we are only beginning to realize. However, in the face of climate change, understanding these interactions brings a new look at how to sustain forests and preserve biodiversity.
