Sandra Correia, winner of UC Semente Awards

The researcher at the Centre for Functional Ecology - Science for People & the Planet, Sandra Isabel Marques Correia, had her project, "PlantREACT - Plant Bioreactor Systems - From Research to Production", as the winner of one of the Semente Awards.

"This project promotes the identification of new compounds of plant origin that can be safely used on a large scale to increase the "shelf life" of food, particularly fruit, avoiding food waste."
