From 16 to 18 June 2025, Coimbra will host the 9th edition of the Luso-Brazilian Congress of Tax Auditors. This event is focused on the theme ‘A global and inclusive tax system, promoting social justice and sustainable economic growth’, the event will bring together experts, researchers and renowned professionals to debate the challenges and prospects of tax administration on the global stage.

During the three-day programme, topics such as Digital Transformation, Climate Change, Transnational Economic Crime and Combating Social Inequalities will be addressed, highlighting the relationship between these issues and Taxation, Regulation and Inspection. The congress aims to anticipate future scenarios and propose innovative solutions to the challenges facing society, governments and tax and customs authorities.

This year's edition will feature debates, promoting the exchange of experiences and knowledge between tax auditors, tax and customs inspectors, academics, private sector professionals and students. The aim is to strengthen integration between Portuguese-speaking countries and encourage the development of fairer and more sustainable tax and customs practices, contributing to social and fiscal justice.

The congress will take place in the Auditorium of the Rectory of the University of Coimbra and is being organised in partnership with the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra, and also UCILeR.
