The ME benefits from the extensive network of contacts and international partnerships of the University of Coimbra (UC) with higher education institutions from around the world, including Europe, Africa, North and South America, Asia, Middle East and Australia. "Currently, the UC has over 700 Erasmus bilateral agreements with several European universities in more than 30 countries and about 200 bilateral agreements with higher education institutions from non-European countries" (GRI, UC) – in Economics, there are 64 Erasmus bilateral agreements.
