Inaugural Conference of the Sino-Lusophone Academy

The University of Coimbra celebrated on June 11, 2019 another important milestone in the strengthening of ties with the People's Republic of China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, with the official inauguration of its Sino-Lusophone Academy (ASL-UC). The inaugural conference, which took place at 3:30 p.m., in the Trinity College auditorium, was attended by Joaquim Chissano, former President of the Republic of Mozambique (1986-2005).

The event, which also included speeches by the Director of the Sino-Lusophone Academy, Rui de Figueiredo Marcos, and the Rector of the University of Coimbra, Amílcar Falcão, preceded the unveiling of the ASL-UC inauguration plaque - also with the presence of the Ambassador of China in Portugal, Cai Run and the members of the ASL-UC Advisory Board who held their first meeting on the same day.
