Anabela Marisa Azul

She is a researcher at the Functional Ecology Centre of the Department of Life Sciences of the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Coimbra. She holds a PhD in Biology, with a specialisation in Ecology (2002) and is undertaking research in Soil Ecology: Taxonomy, Ecology and Biotechnology of Fungi. At the same time she promotes scientific endeavours and develops strategies for the promotion of science-oriented culture through her involvement in knowledge networks which focus on bringing ecology and society closer together. Within this field are her works: Da semente ao fruto: à descoberta do mundo das Plantas [From seed to fruit: discovering the world of plants] geared toward pre-school school education; Ciência a Brincar: Descobre as Plantas [Playing with Science: Discovering Plants]; and [Descobrir as Ciência] Vamos cuidar da Terra: fazer pouco pode mudar muito [(Discovering the Sciences) Let’s take care of the Earth: doing a little can change a lot]; aimed at primary education.
