Claudio Castro Filho

Claudio Castro Filho (Rio de Janeiro, 1980) is a Full Researcher of the UI&D Centre for Classical and Humanistic Studies at the University of Coimbra, currently working in a postdoctoral research in Literary Studies founded by FCT (Portuguese national funding agency for science, research and technology). He earned his PhD in Comparative Literature from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (2012), where he graduated in Art History (2005) and taught Aesthetics and Art Theory (2007-2012). He published O trágico no teatro de Federico García Lorca (Porto Alegre, 2009) and translated García Lorca’s Assim que passarem cinco anos (Coimbra, 2012) into Portuguese. Besides a diverse scientific activity in the fields of dramatic aesthetics and literary studies, he is also a playwright and theatre director.
