Isabel M. R. Mendes Drumond Braga

Her doctorate (1996) in economic and social history of the 15th to 18th centuries is from the New University of Lisbon. She has taught at the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon since 1990, and got her aggregation there in 2006. In 2009 she was a Visiting Professor at the Fluminese Federal University of Brazil.She has given papers at conferences at home and abroad (Germany, Brazil, Spain, France, Israel, Itlay, Marocco, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Tunisia). She has published approximately two hundred articles in Portuguese and international journals and has written many books, on topics such as the Inquisition, minorities, popular religiosity, diplomatic relations, social assistance and daily life, with a particular focus on the history of nutrition.
