João da Cunha Matos

He has a Degree in History from the Faculty of Letters of the University of Coimbra where he was a Teaching Assistant and member of the management commission of the Institute of Economic and Social History. He is Coordinator at the Tomar Higher School of Technology, where has served as Director of the Department of Art, Archeology and Restauration, and as Director of the Art and Archeology Studies Centre. In the area of Portuguese medieval history he has published from primary sources and studied material from religious institutions of the 12th and 13th centuries, particularly in regard to São João de Tarouca Monastery and São Cristóvão of Coimbra Collegiate.
