Paulo Carvalho

He holds a Doctorate in Geography from the University of Coimbra. He is an Auxiliary Professor at the Geography Department of the Faculty of Letters of the University of Coimbra and a researcher at the Centre for the Study of Geography and Territorial Planning (CEGOT) at the Universities of Coimbra, Porto and Braga. He teaches several Bachelor’s degree level subjects, such as geography; tourism, leisure and heritage, and European studies. On the doctorate level his areas are tourism, leisure and culture, and Geography

Among others, he has conducted research into the following areas: urban and regional planning, local and regional development, leisure and tourism, and heritage. He has given talks at academic, administrative, political and cultural/civic institutions. He has also collaborated with the regional and local press and with colleagues on a variety of research projects.

He is the member of several national and international scientific organizations and the author or co-author of more than 100 papers (and approximately the same number of summaries, notes and news articles) published in Portugal and abroad.
